TSI | Tanzania Skateboarding Initiative

For over ten years,

Simon Aloyce has been the backbone of skateboarding in Dodoma — handling the skatepark, organising sessions and building a community. What began as a love for the sport slowly grew into something bigger: a safe space for youth and a network of skaters & partners who believed that skateboarding could be a real force for good in Tanzania.

In 2025, TSI was formally registered as a non-profit organisation in the United Republic of Tanzania, giving structure and legitimity to what had always been a movement.
In 2026, we have officially become part of TAROSKA, Tanzania's national federation for all roller sports. We currently operate across 3 regions, running skateboarding & creative programs for hundreds of young people.

Our vision

We want to create a unified Tanzanian skateboarding community that empowers youth, drives sustainable development, and puts Tanzania on the East African map in action sports.

Our vision is delivered through three core missions:

Providing a safe, inclusive, recreational and creative space for street-connected and marginalized youth.
Promoting skateboarding as a sport, form of physical fitness, and tool for empowerment.
Fostering participation in local, regional, and national competitions

TSI is run by individuals united by passion for the sport. We are committed to empowering youth, cultivating their creativity andconfidence, while advocating for their development and social inclusion.
